Delicate and lightweight, these rustic, hand forged sterling silver earrings are adorned with three stone drops of micro-faceted peridot, all with hand wrapped sterling silver bails. All hang from a hammered ring, reminiscent of little dream catchers.
These earrings measure 1 1/2" and are made of cold forged sterling silver which had been tumbled for many hours making is strong and gleaming. The ear wires are integral to the design.
I was inspired by alchemical processes while making these-- the peridot reminded me of tiny water spirits, called Undines in the 16th century alchemical writings of Paracelsus.
Peridot is said to be a protective stone, corresponding to the heart chakra.
All my jewellery is made by hand by my partner Mike and myself in a converted 18th century naval school on the wild North coast of Scotland. All pieces come gift wrapped with lavender and Scottish heather.
