This elegant necklace is an ode to the Oseberg Viking ship, and the two women shamans buried within it. It is made of a hand sawed lunula/ship from which five faceted moss agate briolettes hang like oars or shields. The ship/moon has been polished with a stardust finish. The chain is made of more moss agate beaded links in an ombre pattern, with two small garnet beads for accents. The necklace closes with a hook and eye clasp in my Bird Mother shape, inspired by ancient bird goddess imagery.
The Oseberg necklace measures 17" or 43cm long.
This necklace has been hallmarked at the Edinburgh assay office and contains the Scottish silver mark as well as my maker's mark.
All my jewellery is made by hand by my partner Mike and myself in a converted 18th century naval school on the wild North coast of Scotland. All pieces come gift wrapped.
