A rustic pendant made of a slice of amethyst druzy stone and pyrite with smoky quartz. This pendant's shape was inspired by simple neolithic goddess or Venus figures, like the recently discovered Orkney "Wifey". I've used the druzy stone as the body, with a raw pyrite head, topped with a tassel of six tiny faceted smoky quartz beads creating her hair or headdress.
All hang from copper plated brass chain and close with my Bird Mother clasp, inspired by ancient bird goddess iconography.
Necklace measures 16" long or 41cm. Goddess figure measures 1 1/2" or 4cm long.
Named for the ancient Norse earth goddess, Nerthus, queen of the conquered Vanir, a secretive goddess-- long buried under the permafrost. It's time to know her again.
All my jewellery is made by hand by my partner Mike and myself in a converted 18th century naval school on the wild North coast of Scotland. All pieces come gift wrapped with lavender and Scottish heather.
