This long, playful Y necklace features a large, faceted amethyst coin connector weighted by a pretty bell emblazoned with two harbingers of spring and the goddess-- a bird and hare. The bell makes a lovely tinkling sound as you move.
Necklace measures 34" or 87cm with a 5" or 13cm drop including 1" or 3cm bell.
Bells have long been used in ritual to invoke the goddess.
This necklace is inspired by the delicate harebell flower. In Scotland the harebell is called a bluebell, and the harebell is the county flower of Yorkshire-- often referred to as Witches Bells. This flower has been celebrated by numerous poets-- here is an excerpt from Christina Rosetti's poem "Hope is like a Harebell"
Hope is like a harebell, trembling from its birth,
Love is like a rose, the joy of all the earth,
Faith is like a lily, lifted high and white,
Love is like a lovely rose, the world’s delight.
Harebells and sweet lilies show a thornless growth,
But the rose with all its thorns excels them both.
