Long, elegant tassel earrings make a statement but are still light and easy to wear. Antiqued art nouveau brass are mirrored and hinged and from them hang silky tassels of the deepest blue-- a mix of cobalt and midnight.
Earrings measure 6" or 15cm long and are designed to brush the shoulders
The creation of these earrings was sparked when I saw a dazzling peacock sleeping in the sun at the Willows Animal Sanctuary near my studios. The deep blue plumes were so luxuriant in the brilliant sun, I knew I had to capture that in an earring somehow. The peacock was sacred to Hera, and these earrings were named after her. She is the Hellenic queen of the Gods-- she legend was much older than Zeus. The many eyed feathers of the peacock were said to be the all-seeing eyes of the goddess, signifying her presence. All my jewellery is made by hand by my partner Mike and myself in a converted 18th century naval school on the wild North coast of Scotland. All pieces come gift wrapped with lavender and Scottish heather.
