A charming little beaded choker necklace of carved early plastic (celluloid?) in a variety of shapes, gives this piece a fun, slightly bohemian vintage feel. The coral pink and muted ivory and black are a lovely combination. My guess is this piece dates from the 30s, with its lovely coral plastic screw closure. This necklace is in good vintage condition-- some of the thread shows when the necklace hangs, as if it has been loosely strung, as no beads are missing from the piece. Necklace measures 17 1/2" or 44.5cm long.
This delightful find reminded me of summer spent dolled up in vintage finery visiting Brighton Beach.
All my vintage pieces are carefully sourced and my jewellery is made by hand by my partner Mike and myself in a converted 18th century naval school on the wild North coast of Scotland. All pieces come gift wrapped with lavender and Scottish heather.
