A single Kyanite stone in my crystal nimbus setting in copper. This solitary point has a powerful dignity and delicacy. Seemingly opaque, it has an otherworldly blue transparency when held up to the light.
Necklace measures 17" and closes with a hand forged copper hook and eye clasp in my bird mother shape, inspired by ancient bird goddess iconography. The pendant hangs from a copper plated brass chain.
I have named this necklace Dis, after the Old Norse word for the ancestral spirits who look after the living.
All my jewellery is made by hand by my partner Mike and myself in a converted 18th century naval school on the wild North coast of Scotland.
