Snake Pennanular Brooch in Sterling Silver. Ouroborus Fibula Shawl Pin. Jörmungandr.

£37.00 GBP

A delicate version of my Anglo Saxon shawl pin in sterling silver, this time the shape is modified to represent a serpent with winding tail. It's great for lighter weight knits (dk or lighter), would also work well with hand woven pieces.

Inspired by the Jörmungandr or World Serpent in Norse mythology. One of Loki's children by the giantess Angrboda, he surrounds Midgard-- our world.

The brooch is 1 1/4" or 3.2cm wide and 1 3/4" or 4.5cm long. It is good for dk, worsted, or aran knits. The brooch has been hallmarked in Edinburgh with the Scottish sterling mark and my makers mark.

All my jewellery is made by hand by my partner Mike and myself in a converted 18th century naval school on the wild North coast of Scotland. All pieces come gift wrapped with lavender and Scottish heather.
